Fr. Peter Prusakiewicz, CSMA of Poland returned to Hawaii for the third time to lead the 2008 Divine Mercy Crusade. Post-Crusade Reports
A Report on the June 2008 Divine Mercy CrusadeA Much Needed Event
This year’s crusade theme “God’s Mercy and the Battle for Souls” was one that was needed very much. We live in a time of great confusion and many, including faithful Catholics, are confused when it comes to the teachings of the Church regarding the practice of New Age and the occult.
Recommended by a very holy and knowledgeable priest, Moira Noonan a former New Age guru caused some people to think and become uncomfortable. After all, they themselves are involved in certain practices of New Age and don’t see anything wrong, especially if it promotes wellness and healing. But some practices or methods are not Christ-centered and that is when things go wrong. Moira presented her talks based on scriptures, the Catechism of the Catholic Church and writings of the Church and Saints. It is our prayer that for those who have been troubled by what they learned or heard, that they may seek the truth. Only the truth in Christ will set them straight and free!
What is New Age?
The "New Age" Movement (NAM) is a loosely connected network of people, groups, activities and practices which, according to its adherents, purportedly foster and produce a vast array of beneficial results such as "spiritual" and personal growth, financial success, improvement in relationships, physical and psychological healing, individual and global peace, stabilization of the environment, etc. NAM does not teach that man is a sinner. It does not teach that man is dependent upon God for all things. It does not teach that Jesus is the only way to God. It does not accept Christianity as the truth.
The NAM is riddled with occult and other forbidden practices which make up the "ancient wisdom", including mediumship, channeling, divination, astrology, consulting spirits of the dead, tarot cards, crystals, palm reading, ouija boards, psychic powers, Yoga, transcendental meditation, hypnosis, past-life regression, etc. Even in the Catholic arena, New Age promotes confusion with the introduction of Reiki, Healing Touch, Enneagram, Centering Prayer, etc in some parishes. Vatican has released a very important document on the subject of the New Age Movement - JESUS CHRIST THE BEARER OF THE WATER OF LIFE - A Christian reflection on the “New Age”. Research and learn what the Catholic Church says about this dangerous movement.
Graces Outpoured
Divine Mercy, Battle for Souls, Spiritual Warfare, the New Age and the Occult…. Why these topics? Salvation of souls is the goal of Divine Mercy, as proclaimed by Jesus to St. Faustina. And souls are at stake when it comes to involvement in the New Age movement and the occult. Jesus wants to save souls thus He manifested Himself as the Merciful Jesus - The Divine Mercy. He wants people who are involved in such dangerous practices to turn to His Mercy.
We are pleased to report that graces came forth from this past crusade event. In particular, some young people upon hearing the dangers of the new age and occult expressed their desires to repent and turn away from such involvements. Oftentimes, young people need to hear the truth and some of them were very glad that they attended the retreat.
We are also happy to share that a woman, not of the Catholic Faith, has expressed a strong desire to be baptized in the Catholic Church upon attending the Crusade events in Oahu. She was able to participate in all of Oahu’s activities which included Holy Mass, Holy Rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet, veneration of the St. Faustina relic, healing services and a series of 8 talks on God’s Mercy and Spiritual Warfare. Although she was at first attracted to the topic of Holy Angels, she had an instant craving for the Eucharist, love for Our Lady, and a deep desire for the sacraments. She has already talked to a pastor in regards to joining the RCIA program. Truly amazing graces came forth from a very hectic and tiring 9-day crusade. Praise be to God from all good things come. Praise God for His Divine Mercy!

Mahalo Nui Loa
Without the generous assistance, contributions and prayers of the faithful supporters of the Divine Mercy ministry, the crusade would have not been possible and amazing conversions would have not taken place. We trust in God’s Divine Providence and we trust in the people He sends us.
Our sincerest gratitude to the pastors, coordinators, volunteers who made this 2008 crusade possible and grace-filled. A special commendation goes to the youth and young adults of Sts. Peter and Paul and St. Jude for their active participation and assistance. They could have spent their evenings doing what most young people would do on summer months but they chose to be part of the grace-filled spiritual activities. We keep the young people close to our hearts and prayers as they will be the holy leaders of tomorrow. They are powerful evangelizers. A special Mahalo to the SHWAY (Saints Helping to Win Adults and Youth) group. God bless all of you.
A special thank you to those who contributed in sponsoring the guest speakers coming from Poland and California. God is pleased with your stewardship. Without your financial contributions and love-offerings, none of the events would have been possible, and thus, opportunities for amazing graces would also not be possible. Every little thing helps and no matter how small the contributions are, God sees your generous hearts and He is pleased. But most of all, we are thankful for all the prayers of protection and support for those who attended the events. They will carry the good news to their families, friends, relatives, co-workers and community members. They have been called to become “Fishers of Men.”
Fishers of Men
It was inspiring to hear Fr. Peter Prusakiewicz encouraged each one of us to become Fishers of Men. He explained that as fishermen, men gather fish from the ocean using wide and strong nets, and that fishermen work in groups in order to gather bountiful catches A single fisherman, on one hand, does not produce the same result if the task is carried out alone. Similarly, he stated that when we work together and share our talents and gifts, we bring more souls to God. When we work together with other Fishermen (ministries, apostolates and groups in union with the Church), we effectively bring more souls closer to Jesus. Our talents, gifts, resources and services are the wide nets used to catch many fish in the ocean. With that comparison in mind, we are grateful to the various organizations and ministries who helped us in catching many souls during this past crusade. Jesus is very pleased when we all work together in catching “souls”.
