The following verses taken from the Diary of St. Faustina (Divine Mercy in My Soul) explain the need for spreading the messages and devotion to Divine Mercy. These words (in red), given by Our Lord Jesus to St. Faustina, are for us and for our times . More reasons (verses) can be found in the diary.
"When I was at the last conference, the priest was speaking of how much the world needs God’s mercy, and that this seems to be a special time when people have a great need of prayer and God’s mercy. Then I heard a voice in my soul: “these words are for you. Do all you possibly can for this work of My mercy. I desire that My mercy be worshipped, and I am giving mankind the last hope of salvation; that is, recourse to My mercy. My Heart rejoices in this feast.” After these words, I understood that nothing can dispense me from the obligation which the Lord demands of me.”
"My daughter, do what ever is within your power to spread devotion to My mercy. I will make up for what you lack. Tell aching mankind to snuggle close to My merciful Heart, and I will fill it with peace.”
“My daughter. Speak to the world about My Mercy; let all mankind recognize My unfathomable mercy. It is a sign for the end of times; after it will come the day of justice. While there is still time, let them have recourse to the fount of My mercy; let them profit from the Blood and Water which gushed forth for them.”
Today the Lord said to me, “My daughter, write down these words: All those souls who will glorify My mercy and spread its worship, encouraging others to trust in My mercy, will not experience terror at the hour of death. My mercy will shield them in that final battle...” (1540)
“Tell My priests that hardened sinners will repent on hearing their words when they speak about My unfathomable mercy, about the compassion I have for them in My Heart. To priests who proclaim and extol My mercy, I will give wondrous power; I will anoint their words and touch the hearts of those to whom they speak.” (1521)
I went before the Blessed Sacrament; and when I immersed myself in prayer of thanksgiving, I heard these words in my soul: “My child you are My delight, you are the comfort of My Heart. I grant you as many graces as you can hold. As often as you want to make Me happy, speak to the world about My great and unfathomable mercy.” (164)
“Tell them that no soul that has called upon My mercy has been disappointed or brought to shame. I delight particularly in a soul which has placed its trust in My goodness.” (1541)
“The graces of My mercy are drawn by means of one vessel only, and that is - trust. The more a soul trusts, the more it will receive. Souls that trust boundlessly are a great comfort to Me, because I pour all the treasures of My graces into them. I rejoice that they ask for much, because it is My desire to give much, very much. On the other hand, I am sad when souls ask for little, when they narrow their hearts.” (1578)
